Check-out Instructions
Please make sure to complete all of the following items prior to check-out time (10:00am). Late check-out may be requested in advance, but can only be accommodated on a case-by-case basis.
• Linens – Remove sheets from all beds used during your stay, and place them on the bedroom floor. Leave used towels with used bedding or on the bathroom floor.
• Windows – Close and lock all windows.
• Dishes – Clean all dishes and start the dishwasher.
• Coffee – Throw out used coffee filters / K-cups.
• Food – Take all of your remaining perishable food items with you (fridge and pantry).
• Waste – Put all waste in bags in the garage; cleaners would greatly appreciate if you take trash to the dumpster; See Trash & Recycling section below for more information, including optional recycling
• Gear / Amenities – Return any used outdoor gear, other amenities, and furniture to their original location.
• Thermostats / AC units – In winter, set thermostats to 60°F. In summer, turn off all AC units.
• TVs – If you logged into any smart TV apps, please log out of those accounts. If you logged into your personal Samsung or LG account, please remove the account.
• Locks – Verify that all windows and exterior doors are locked.
• Garage – Close garage door.
• Exiting – The last person to leave must leave through the front door and ensure that the keyless entry is locked.
• Feedback – If you feel we’ve earned a 5-star rating, we would greatly appreciate you taking a moment to provide a review using the service (e.g., Airbnb, VRBO) you used for booking. If there were any issues or you have recommendations for us to consider, please share that with us directly so we may enhance future guests’ experience.
Linens
Please reuse towels during your stay. We provide enough bath towels to accommodate one towel per guest at full capacity. One set of sheets is available per mattress. If you would like clean towels or sheets during your stay, you may use the laundry machines in the basement.
Before check-out, please remove sheets from all beds used during your stay, and place them on the bedroom floor. Please remove duvet covers from comforters. Leave mattress protectors and pillow protectors on, unless they were soiled. You may leave used towels with used bedding or on the bathroom floor.
Trash & Recycling
Trash and recycling bins are in a drawer in the kitchen. Trash bags are under the kitchen sink or in the pantry. When bins/bags are full, take them to the larger bins provided in the garage.
Please place all waste in bags inside bins in garage. See signs inside garage for more details.
To keep critters out of the trash, please keep garage doors closed, and leave all waste inside bins with lids closed.
Before you leave, please take bags to the dumpster. As a courtesy to the cleaners, it is greatly appreciated if you take your trash bags to the dumpster at the top of the driveway.
Recycling is optional, but it requires that you take recycling to the local transfer station. Recycling collection is not available. If you would like to recycle, you must sort recyclables into the proper bins and then take sorted recycling to the New Durham Transfer Station at 56 Tash Road (~10 min drive; open Fri-Mon 8:00am – 4:30pm; closed Tues-Thurs). See signs in the garage for additional details.
If you wish to recycle, separate bins are provided in the garage for:
• Aluminum cans (e.g., soda cans)
• Tin cans (e.g., from canned vegetables)
• Glass
• Plastic
• Paper and paperboard (e.g., cereal boxes)
• Cardboard
Any recycling left in the bins after your stay will be disposed as trash.
Supplies
We aim to provide our guests with convenient items including:
• Toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner; in bathroom vanities)
• Toilet paper (must use single-ply septic-safe TP that we provide; located in bathroom vanities)
• Paper towels (in pantry)
• First aid kit (under kitchen sink)
• Hand soap (under bathroom vanities and kitchen sink)
• Dish soap (under kitchen sink)
• Dishwasher detergent (under kitchen sink)
• Laundry detergent (in laundry room)
• Cleaning supplies (under kitchen sink and in pantry)
Inventory is checked between guests. However, if you notice anything is missing or running low, we would appreciate you letting us know so we can make sure to have these items available for the next guest.
Landscaping & Snow
Someone may come during your visit to maintain the lawn or remove snow. We provide snow plowing services for the driveway, though cannot guarantee the driveway will be plowed at all times. Snow shovels are available in the garage for guests to clear snow from the front steps and back deck.
When the snow plow comes, you may need to move cars around to provide space for the plow to clear the driveway. In advance of snowfall, we recommend parking all cars in the area directly in front of the garage so that the plow has a clear path for the vast majority of the driveway.
